How Lincolns’ Social Club keeps culture, connection and community at the heart of the workplace.

At Lincolns, culture isn’t an afterthought — it’s the heartbeat of the workplace. And at the centre of it all is the Lincolns Social Club, a select team of staff who plan events, celebrations and moments that bring everyone together.

From waffle breakfasts to Mario Kart tournaments, the Social Club’s mission is simple: to make work feel a little less like work, and a lot more like community.

This year, the outgoing Social Club crew, Kelly, Ben and Taleah, took that mission to heart, filling the calendar with creativity, laughter and connection across the entire team.

What Their Year Looked Like

The 2025 Social Club calendar had something for everyone — family walks, Taco Tuesday, quiz nights, the annual Push-Up Challenge, bowling, and of course the Mario Kart Mushroom Cup (where Lincolns’ competitive streak was on full display). Each event brought its own mix of laughter, friendly rivalry and connection. Whether it was trying something new, catching up over food, or bringing family and friends into the fun, every gathering added a little more colour and plenty of stories to life at Lincolns.

A standout highlight was International Food Day — a full-blown feast where team members brought in dishes from their culture or family favourites to share. The kitchen transformed into a buffet of flavours and stories, celebrating the diversity that makes Lincolns such a vibrant and welcoming workplace.

Each event carried its own energy, but the purpose was the same, bringing people together. Partners, kids, and even a few office dogs joined in throughout the year, turning ordinary workdays into something a bit more memorable. Whether it was sharing food, swapping stories, or teaming up for a challenge, these moments reminded everyone why connection outside of work matters just as much as what happens at the desk.

Of course, not everything went according to plan. The Easter Egg Hunt will be remembered for its… enthusiastic participation. “Let’s just say after that one, we learnt to set a few rules early next time.”

Beyond the Fun

While every event brings plenty of laughs, the real goal is connection, giving people a chance to step away from their desks, share a moment, and get to know the faces behind the emails. It’s what turns a busy workplace into a team that genuinely enjoys working together.

Making the Magic Happen

If money and time were unlimited, the Social Club would be booking cooking classes, staging a Lincolns “Amazing Race”, and maybe even hosting karaoke. But behind the scenes, it’s not all confetti and cupcakes — there’s a lot of planning and coordination that brings each event to life.

This year, the team found smarter ways to plan. Online ordering streamlined the snack restocks, shared tools made event prep easier than ever, and lessons from past events helped refine what works best. Not every idea goes exactly to plan, but that’s part of the fun, every event brings new ideas, laughter and a few lessons for next time.

Behind every Social Club event is a small team with big enthusiasm. Each team member brings their own strengths — the organisers who keep things on track, the natural hosts who lift the room, and the creative minds behind the witty posts that keep everyone in the loop. That mix of skills and teamwork is what makes it all work.

What’s Coming in 2026

As the year wraps up, the outgoing Social Club team is eager to see what the next crew brings to the table. The new presidents will be revealed at the Lincolns Christmas Party, where the current trio will pass over their crowns, along with a few tried-and-tested tips, tricks and perhaps a gentle reminder about managing the chocolate drawer.

It’s always one of the most anticipated moments of the year: a light-hearted handover filled with laughter, a bit of ceremony, and plenty of encouragement for the new kings and queens of the Social Club.

With a new team stepping in, there’s plenty to look forward to, maybe a cooking class, definitely a revamped Mushroom Cup, and hopefully a little less chaos when it comes to Easter egg hunts. As Kelly, Ben and Taleah hand over the crowns, they leave behind a few legendary stories and a Social Club stronger than ever. Whatever 2026 brings, the Social Club spirit is in great hands, and the crowns, of course, will sparkle on.
